Introduction

Mappers are critical for defining how data from your Podio apps is structured and transferred to your local database. Once a connector is established, the next step is setting up mappers to specify the fields to synchronize. This allows precise control over which data is mapped to your MySQL or PGSQL database.

Step 1: Navigate to the Mapper Setup

  1. Go to the Sync Dashboard in thatapp.io.

  2. Open the Database Backup Module from the side navigation menu.

  3. In the Connectors Table, locate the desired connector and click the Mapper (Database) Icon to proceed.

Step 2: Create a Mapper

  1. Fill Out the Initial Modal:

    • Provide details such as the name of the mapper and any specific preferences for the setup.

    • Click Create Mapper to proceed to the advanced configuration.

  2. Define Field Mappings:

    • Use the Basic or Advanced Field Settings to select the fields you want to map.

    • Check the boxes for relevant fields in your Podio app to determine what will be synchronized.

  3. Set Data Sync Preferences:

    • Choose whether to:

      • Push live data into your database.

      • Sync deleted items from Podio (e.g., if data is deleted in Podio, it’s deleted in your database).

  4. Click Save Mapper to complete the setup.

Step 3: Manage Your Mappers

Once created, your mappers are displayed in the Mappers Table. Here are the available options:

  • View Icon: Review mapper details and configuration.

  • Edit: Modify field settings or preferences.

  • Resync: Update your database with the latest data.

  • Delete Icon: Remove the mapper if no longer needed.

Pro Tips for Mapper Setup

  • Start with basic settings if you’re new, then experiment with advanced options for more complex needs.

  • Regularly resync your mapper to ensure up-to-date data in your local database.

  • Use descriptive names for your mappers to easily identify their purpose.
