Welcome to the world of ThatApp.io's Print Template! In this article, we will embark on an in-depth journey through the intricacies of the Print Template interface, delve into document settings, and acquaint you with essential controls. By the end of this guide, you'll have the knowledge and expertise to navigate our system like a seasoned pro.

Logging In and Accessing Your Template

Let's start at the very beginning. To embark on your document creation journey, you first need to log in to your Print Dashboard. Once there, you have two choices: you can either create a brand-new template or select one that you've previously crafted. Once you've made your choice and have your template open, you'll be greeted by the document editor interface, which we will explore in depth.

Understanding the Template Interface

The ThatApp Print system unfolds into three distinct sections. Let's take a comprehensive look at each one:

The Left-hand (Variable) side

This section serves as your gateway to transforming your organization's dynamics and accessing different items within a workspace. If you ever need to switch to a different organization or workspace, this left-hand side is where you can make that transition effortlessly. Just click on the organization to reveal the settings, and you're on your way.

But the true magic unfolds within the variables section of the template editor. This is where you can seamlessly integrate nearly all the data associated with an app item within your selected workspace directly into your document template. Here are some of the key variables you'll frequently utilize:

  • Date: This variable offers versatility by covering various date and time formats, making it invaluable when you want to weave date-related information into your document template.

  • User: With the User variable, you can access vital information about the space owner. From their Name and User ID to Profile ID, Email, Phone, Link, last seen details, and even image variables, you have the power to personalize your document with precision.

  • App: Within the App variable, you'll uncover the particulars of the app you selected earlier. It includes essential information such as the app ID, Name, and Link, providing you with contextual data for your document.

  • Item: In the Item variable, you gain access to the specifics of the selected app item. This encompasses metadata and any custom fields you've created, allowing you to tailor your document's content to your exact requirements.

  • Tasks: The Tasks variable provides an overview of assigned tasks. You can discern the task's status, the individuals to whom it's assigned, their profiles, task IDs, creation dates, and more. The ability to insert tables here further enhances your customization options.

  • Comments: Comments play a crucial role in document context. The Comments variable showcases comments associated with the item at the point of backup, complete with their IDs and likes. This feature enables you to maintain a comprehensive record of interactions related to your document.

The middle (Editor) Side

Now, let's delve into the core of your template - the editor. It consists of three parts stacked on top of each other:

  • The top section of your document is the header, where you can define important introductory information or branding elements.

  • The middle portion is the body, where the main content of your document resides.

  • Lastly, at the bottom, you have the footer, where you can include closing remarks, contact details, or any other information you want to appear at the end of your document..

Each of these sections has its own set of controls, granting you full autonomy to customize your document professionally and efficiently. This level of control ensures you can save time while creating documents that meet your exact specifications.

ThatApp.io's Print Template interface empowers you to streamline your document creation process, leverage organizational data, and craft polished documents with ease. For this article, we'll focus on the first two tabs: Template and Document Settings.

Template Setting Tab: Fine-Tuning Your Document Parameters

Within the Template Setting Tab, you gain access to a range of crucial fields and options that allow you to customize your document. Let's break down the key components:

Document Title: Here, you can define the title of the document as it will be displayed when you download or upload it to Podio. This ensures that your document is easily identifiable in your Podio workspace.

Selecting Extension: Whether you're previewing the document, uploading it to Podio, or downloading it to your PC, you have the flexibility to choose the format in which you want the document to be represented. The available formats include PDF, Doc, Docx, and RTF, catering to various preferences and requirements.

Save Button: The Save button is your go-to for preserving all the settings and content updates made to your template. It's essential to save your changes regularly, ensuring that your document is up to date with the latest modifications.

Activate/Deactivate Print Button: This feature provides the convenience of activating or deactivating the Print button on Podio with a single tap. Changes are made in real time, offering you immediate control over your document's accessibility.

Document Setting Tab: Crafting Your Document Layout

The Document Setting Tab functions as your command center for structuring your document. Here, you'll find a range of options to tailor your document layout to perfection:

Page Orientation and Size Settings: You have the freedom to define the page orientation (portrait or landscape) and the page size, ensuring that your document layout aligns with your specific requirements.
