Overview
The Comment Summary Timeline converts long or cluttered comment threads into a single, organized summary that reads like a structured case history. AVA reviews all comments in the item, groups them by author and date, removes repetition, and highlights decisions, submissions, and outcomes.
This summary allows teams to understand key discussions and actions without scrolling through hundreds or thousands of comments.
How It Works
Triggering the Assistant
Create a Podio task and assign it to AVA.
Title the task “Create Comment Timeline.”
AVA automatically locates all comments for that item and begins summarization.
Dynamic Compression
AVA uses adaptive compression to shorten repetitive or low-value messages while expanding important details.
This ensures the output remains both concise and informative.
The compression ratio varies (approximately 1:10 to 1:20) depending on comment complexity.
Output Placement
The generated summary is stored in a text field titled “Comment Timeline.”
If the field exists, it will be updated.
If it does not, AVA will automatically create it within the application.
Format and Capacity
The summary is stored in valid HTML for clean display in Podio.
Up to 2,500 comments can be processed per run.
Summaries can reach 450,000 characters; if exceeded, AVA truncates gracefully and saves overflow data separately.
Summary Contents
Each timeline includes:
Chronological grouping of all user and system comments.
Consolidated messages from the same author on the same day.
Clear labeling of significant actions, approvals, or submissions.
A closing Current Status section summarizing the latest activity.
Summary Metadata listing record count, compression ratio, and adaptive detail level.
Recognized Task Titles
The following task titles will all trigger the Comment Summary Timeline process:
Create Comment Timeline
Summarize Comments
Generate Comment History

Summarize Comment Thread
